So, awhile back there were rumors of a Picaroons pub or small brewery going to be opened downtown. Anybody hear anything about that lately?

Maybe Sean could chime in and give us an update :D

Andrew: A Picaroons retail beer store is in progress. It'll be located on Queen Street in Fredericton. I'm not sure of the street address but its between the Garrison Alehouse and Gordie's Pub in part of the old Bugaboo Creek space that was formerly Rye's Deli. In spite of all the bar-like associations, this will not be a place to drink on the premises. We'll be selling beer for take-out in kegs, bottles and growlers. We'll also have Picaroons "stuff" and we plan to stock other beer-related things as well. It'll be a work in progress. We also plan to install our old brewing equipment and use the place to do some experimentation for new beers and to do cask-conditioned ales as well.

As for the update...we have a lease, part of a plan and a contractor. Our interior design is being done by Peter Mueller of Fredericton. We hope to start the renovations in about a week but we're in no real hurry to finish. The retail store should be open for NB Day in August and the whole operation installed and finished by early November. Given my under-developed sense of urgency, those dates are mere speculation.
Cheers, Sean
Thanks for the very detailed update .. more than what I was expecting but greatly appreciated ;)

Are you supplying the 'Growlers' for takeout (similar to the kegs) or will people be required to purchase one first?

Also, will you be selling these new 'experimental' brews in the store in bottles? or just kegs/growlers?

Cheers, Andrew
